Nursing Ethics: A Word Cloud

This word cloud displays my nursing values. Acknowledging our values and their impact on how we show up in the world – as humans, but especially as nurses – allows us to be intentional with our words and actions.

Curiosity is the most prominent value in my word cloud which is fitting as it is from a curious mindset that living out all my other values is possible. To be an open-minded, empathic nurse committed to inclusivity, equity, and partnership with others I must first be curious. Curiosity allows me to leave behind any biases or pre-judgements I might have to walk alongside colleagues, patients, and anyone else I come into relationship with in my work as a nurse. Curiosity enables me to be truthful, transparent and open to learning with and from everyone I encounter.
